"In 1999, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. selected Spring Valley as the site for a 1.2 million square foot Regional Distribution Center. Although many other locations in north central Illinois were considered, Spring Valley's proximity to the interstate highway network and its diverse and tenacious workforce ultimately made it the first choice for the facility. As our Distribution Center enters its 5th full year of operation, we continue to be exceptionally pleased with that decision. The talent available here in the Illinois Valley has allowed us to build a dedicated team of associates, and the local area has provided over 80% of the buildings current leadership.
